#RandomMusings Sex and Disability - 18+ NSFW
#RandomMusings I don't know what to say, as I only have 280 characters in which to speak. Perhaps I'll extend that with (Twitlonger-check it out) I share a lot of myself with you, far more than I'm sure sometimes you'd like to know. I make few apologies for that, as Twitter, social media, an "open forum" allows me to do, My intimate thoughts vary, from meager to major.<div>
Again I probably do share more than "society" says I should. I started to say *uck society" at a young age, younger than I shall mention here. Nudity, exhibitionism all practiced in solidarity, with some but a minimal chance of being caught. What's the fun of being naked and touching yourself outdoors, if there's no risk of being seen? >:-)
Some wouldn't believe that one who is physically disabled, unable to walk, run and/or stand would be prone to this type of behavior. Because some have an inaccurate understanding, possess an ignorance regarding those with disabilities. Now it can be argued that people with disabilities are among the top ten, possibly top 5 most frustrated minority, "marginalized" groups in society. And can we be blamed? doubtful. Along with many other minority groups, there are stereotypes, lies, falsehoods said about "us". "We can't have sex" Spoken from ignorance, or a "lack of understanding." "We shouldn't have sex." And the third stereotype, "We don't like sex", or we are "asexual".
And those who claim to care about "us", most likely do, but only know how to do so, thinking that we are vulnerable, again fragile. They care so much, to the point that they feel the need to be a "protector". While I and/or we appreciate that you do care, we don't care to be smothered unless it happens to be by particular parts of one's body.
I leave you with this, and if you've read this far, I thank you. Don't misjudge "us", think of us as invalids, asexual, not interested in sex and/or intimacy. We think about it, we attempt it, we learn to adapt ways in which to achieve intimacy, sexual activity because like anyone not with a disability, if we want something bad enough, we will find a way to make it happen. And with adapting comes creativity. And if I can think of ways to do things at a young age, imagine what others with similar circumstances as I can and have done. I am a virgin, in the most literal, "old school" definition of the act. But I am not pure, innocent, untouched. Nor am I naive to things concerning sex and intimacy.
