I Hate Flickr. Long Live Flickr!

Since xHamster essentially abandoned support for photo uploads for general users (it's still available if you're a "creator"), I've moved my photo uploads to Flickr. It's been more than 7 years since I've used Flickr and not much has changed.

I hate Flickr.

Back then, I hated Flickr because it seemed like they kept harassing me because of the content of my photos - I think they just didn't want to be associated with "porn" and at every corner, I was being restricted because of some rule I'd violated. "Fuck that", I said back then, "I'll just go to xHamster".

Now, with the infamous NY Times article about Porn Hub, there's not much more that's better out. Sites that do still allow for photo uploads aren't as good as xHamster and I don't plan on moving my video collection elsewhere, so...back to Flickr.

I'm not (yet) being bothered by the Flickr police and from what I can see, nothing much has changed in 7+ years. Why do I hate Flickr now? It feels like I'm uploading some awesome photos...to a "vanilla" site - and that's not a sexy feeling. Flickr feels...boring.

It's probably all in my head because frankly, even here on xHamster, photo uploads never garnered a lot of views or comments - it's all about the video - so it's probably no worse over at Flickr. In addition, their features for album management, tagging, posting photos in groups...that's all definitely better than anything that xHamster or any other site has, so net-net I'm probably better off.

Still, I'd rather be able to just upload photos here.

Funny how you don't miss something until it's gone.

I hate Flickr. But I'm glad they're still around.
