About Galleries

Does anyone know what the deal is with the galleries section? It's been a while since I was active on here and back then I was able to post stuff there, but now it just says they're closed? I was under the assumption that it was because you needed to be verified, but now I am and I still can't upload there. Is this a temporary thing or can we just never upload images anymore?
