Much like Marwen
The car love comes from genetics, and my surroundings. Genentics are of my lineage. My father had a British sport coupe in high school and later a Japanese one. And growing up we always had practical cars that were cheap and know for not breaking down. In my teen and p*****n years my car love flourished in the pages of car books, or magazines as they were known. Car and Driver was good, but I had a subscription to Top Wheels magazine when I was fifteen, and that was like driving the Audubon. DP motorsports, Koenig Turbo tuned Ferarris, Isdera Imperrator. My mind was blown. Now, after so many years of living out of pocket and struggling for every dollar I have ever gotten, It dawns upon my tiny mind how life is a daily struggle for most, and that there are a select few who are allowed the privilege of being ignorant their entire life. My life struggle has trained me to handle adversity how ever I can. It has also shown me that I have been right all along the path of my life by listening to my heart, and right now my heart is tell me, no screaming at me to build my world in 1/18th scale.
Models are just that, models. Something to look at, nothing more. The really expensive models are in a case that says "look with your eyes not your hands" with out actually saying it. If your live by the bible you might say that it is the same thing as worshiping a false idol. These days, in the country I live in most people worship their firearm and call it their right. Humans are on a planet in space, you have whatever rights you decide to have. God is a man made concept, and man has the right to believe in the god that he creates. Just like all the 2400 other religions on the planet inhabited by humans.
And since were just making this shit up as we go along, I decide at this time that I shall find my true happiness in the act of wearing what I want, heels and everything that go with them, and "playing" with my "toy" cars. Both of those words are in quotes because they are subject to the opinions of "normal" people. People who don't play with toys or themselves. And that by beholding the beauty of my world in the scale of one to eighteen times smaller than full size, I shall be releasing endorphins into my brain to enhance the pleasure aspect of my life as I know it on Planet Earth. Said endorphins shall also flow forth upon the act of building and displaying my domicile in the corresponding scale. Not only for the good feeling, but mostly to have a place for the model cars and bikes, and low speed driving practice for when I get around to build the die cast cars into remote control. All of which, building and display, shall be uploaded to a mainstream stream.
The similarities between myself and the man in the feature film, are there, but are far outweighed by the differences. I put down the cigarettes about twenty years ago, I just didn't actually quit smoking, if you know what I mean. And I work in a smaller scale than he does. He uses Barbie size figures, mine are more like action figures size. Thankfully I have never received the beating he did for wearing heels. One thing that is the same is that he loves to wear them, even after almost dying, and I probably would too.
Pursuit of happiness baby, that's my God given right. And as long as I don't hurt any one, or inflict my will upon them, I'm gonna. I don't live by comparison, but if I did, I would be so justified because the stuff I see others doing is way worse.
