Can anyone help me understand an uploading issue?

Goodness, I’ve been using the non website version of this on my phone and didn’t know I am missing out on so much by way of interaction. I wondered what the hell happened to the comment wall and assumed it was a deleted feature. Anyway.

Uploading has proven to be too tedious for me to share more than just a pinch of what I would love to share. I’ve gathered that uploading as a file seems to be easier than uploading from a film roll but it’s still a bit of a pain in the ass. So I thought I would try the option where upon clicking ‘upload’ I would select the camera option as opposed to something I’d already filmed. I assume that will upload faster, correct me if I am wrong.

Regardless, the screen dims very dark after about 30 seconds and then my phone goes to sleep even though it is actively recording. Why? Do I need do change settings in my actual phone? Why would it not register that it is being engaged and not fall asleep though?
