Rant!(Non-sex :P)
So, I have finally finished my project and most of my studying and I am sooooo tired, but I'm also bored so I thought I would blog since I haven't in a while. First I have to comment on some of the events that have happened in the past couple of days.
1) Even though this is a- *cough *cough- porn site, I have to comment on the Boston Marathon Bombing. You know..... it really is becoming a scary time in not only America but the world. Parents can't send their c***dren to school without fearing that it'll be their town on CNN next with the headline 'School Shooting'. People can't go to movies anymore without a deranged maniac trying to carry out a mass killing. Now, citizens cannot participate in a marathon without their lives being in danger. Now, I'm not saying that these types of tragedy are new to us i.e. Columbine shooting, 9/11. And I'm not saying that these types of tragedies are new to the world, however, every single time I tune in to CNN or the awful Fox News on occasion, all I see is tragedy. The only channel that doesn't have some much horrible news is HLN, who unfortunately is in its 4th consecutive week of covering that Jodi Arias trial. Here I am rambling again.... anyway... wait... what was my point?
Oh yeah!
I just wish that people could stop being so evil and just horrible. I know there are some people in this world who don't agree with our government or our way of living. (Not saying for sure that his person fits in that category) I'm not mad that they don't like the way we live, because that is their opinion and everyone has the right to have an opinion. However, that does not excuse anybody from killing innocent people because of their opinion on an entire country or society or just because. IT....DOES....NOT. If someone in this country believes that our government is not running this country right, I believe they have the right to be heard. I whole-heartedly believe in fighting for something that I believe in. However, hurting someone should never be an option. They are many other ways of getting your point across instead of senseless killings.
Even though I feel that everyone has the right to have their own beliefs, sometimes I feel like these beliefs can make someone ignorant. For example, I'm sure some of you have heard about Malala Yousafzai, the young student from Pakistan who was shot in the head by a ******* gunmen. From what I've researched the ******* don't take to kindly to females being educated (if I am wrong, please correct me ^_^) These men attempted to assassinate a person who wanted education so that she could have a bright future. When I first read the story, I couldn't understand it.... Why... would someone want to hurt somebody who was only trying to better their selves. I admit, it angered me. It made me furious that there are people out there that are willing to kill someone because of something that would not affect them in anyway? I just don't get it? What makes a person want to kill people that have not affected them in any way, people that I am sure have not harmed them in any way?
Maybe this tragedy was political-based. Maybe this perpetrator cannot stand Americans and wanted us to know it. I have no idea why this person would do something like this....
However, I do know that in times like these, people come together. Tragedy always makes someone stronger somehow. It might be the worst thing in the world, but if they can make it through that sadness and that pain, I know they come out stronger somehow. I'm not just talking about Americans, but people. Humans. I just wish for once, we could stop thinking about our differences and just see ourselves as humans. I don't want everybody to see Blacks and Whites, Asians, Muslims, Indians, etc, and just...see...people.
As I'm writing this incredibly long post, I'm reminded of the time I volunteered at a foster home while I was upstate at school. This 10-year-old, who was way mature for her age had so many thoughts about racism and prejudice and discrimination. She said to me "I wish everybody was blind." Of course it was so random of her to say something like that I had to ask why; and she said to me in the cutest yet wisest answer ever "Because maybe then, we'd all get along, because everybody can't tell the difference between everybody else, so they can't see what they don't like. Then they'll have nothing to not-like."
A lot of us could learn from her.
