Shaved

I recently started seeing someone who asked me to trim/shave/largely remove my pubic hair. I'd not only never done it before, but had never been asked to by anyone either. I started with nosehair/cuticle trimmers but after trying to get to close and nicking myself a few times I switched to a razor.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the experience. It's itchy (as everyone told me it would be), chafes, and it actually feels like everybody knows (obviously they don't).

So, I have to know: do men do this? More to the point, do women like it/dislike it when they do? Trimmed vs shaved? I'm so not used to seeing myself like this, I feel pretty abnormal. If things don't work out with this girl, is the next one just going to laugh?
