Useless profile disclaimers

Adding a disclaimer to the end of your profile will not protect your privacy! These warnings have spread over xHamster like kudzu, but they're legally meaningless, and I really hope people aren't relying on them.
You already own the copyright to everything you create. It's automatic -- you don't have to register with the copyright office. It is already unlawful for people to copy your pictures/videos. The people who do this know it's wrong, but do it anyway. A disclaimer won't stop them, nor will it improve your odds should you decide to pursue legal action (you're already going to win).
Researchers and journalists have broad Fair Use rights to use copyrighted material. They don't need your permission, and can use the material even if they're aware that you don't want them to. No disclaimer can override this.
Always assume that anything you post on the Internet will end up visible to the public. People copy stuff. Sites have security lapses. Shit happens. I wish shit didn't happen, but it does.
Think about what would happen if your xHamster pictures/videos were published on the front page of the newspaper. Would it ruin your life?
