NBA Finals Preview & Prediction
So the story line played out just as most suspected and to be perfectly honest hoped it would. No I'm not talking about GOT or the WWE. I'm talking about the 2014 NBA season and the playoffs. The Miami Heat making their 4th straight finals appearance ( only the 3rd team to do so ) and seeking their 3rd straight world championship will take on the San Antonio Spurs who are seeking their 5th world title since 1999. As most of us know and for those that don't this a rematch of last year's epic 7 game series that went Miami's way.
Jesus Shuddlesworth for the win !
More than that it's a contrast of of what most fans think is right in the NBA. On one side the villains, the black hats, LeBron James & the Heat. You either love them or hate them no middle ground. There are those that think the Heat's dynasty was bought and paid for the easy way back in 2010 with the decision. That he came to Miami because it was easier to defer to Dwayne Wade as the go to guy and just come along for the ride. Well after the finals loss to the Mavs in '11 that all changed. James has put his stamp on the previous 2 Heat title runs and has only reaffirmed his status as the best player in the world in this years playoff run. Along side future hall of famer Wade & 9 time all star Chris Bosh, they get all the calls from the refs, get all the women and sell out all the arenas across the country. If this was wrestling they would be the heels, the rockstars of the NBA.
In the other corner, the good guys, the symbol of what most think is right in the NBA and all of pro sports.. The San Antonio Spurs. The most consistent franchise in all of sports the past 15 years. Led by their own big 3, veterans Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobli. There is nothing fancy or flashy about these 3, no commercials no pop culture following just winning.
for every heel there has to be a "babyface" and that would be these guys. To say their pissed off about the way things played out last year when they had their 6th title slip through senior citizen fingertips would be an understatement. But not to be detered they are back again to beat us to death with their fundamental, and borderline boring style of team basketball. Despite that it works and works effectively.. like a handjob it's not the most fun way to get to the finish line but it always seems to get the job done.
So the stage is set will the Miami Heat, the pop stars, the dynasty & the privileged of the NBA once again fend off the blue collar homegrown challengers from Alamo country ?
my pick : Miami 4-3 series win
