MLB Mid Season Report
Since I really have no desire to work today because of my impending day trip I figured no better time than now to crank this out !! I must say to this point it has been a very intriguing season. With a few surprises a couple of disappointing performances. 8 teams are within 3 games of each other Including a Washington Nationals club that has battled injuries to various key starters & still be in 1st place at the halfway point thanks to the League's best team ERA ( 3.08 ) and clutch hitting from second year star Anthony Rendon & Jayson Werth. The Reds have righted the ship after a slow start to find themselves only 1.5 out of 1st in the Central Division behind the bat of Todd Frazier & the National League leader in wins Alfredo Simon. Out West the Dodgers & the Giants have found themselves in a war for 1st. The Dodgers with one of the League's best staffs led of course by Clayton Kershaw and the Giants with one of baseball's top offenses.
Over in the American League the Orioles have continued to build on their recent success over the past couple of years and thanks in large part to the free agent signing of Nelson Cruz ( .287 28HR 74 RBI ) are on top of the east. The Tigers to this point look like they will win another AL Central crown but the best team in baseball may be the AL West leading Oakland Athletics !!
