NFL preview 2014
The king of all pro sports is back !! And aside from being the most popular sport in America it has become a cultural phenomenon.. But before we get to deep into my nerdy breakdown of all that is pro *******.. how about a little mood music ? Now I'm not a Raiders fan but if this doesn't get you excited I don't know what will !

The Seattle Seahawks enter the season as your defending Super Bowl champions after crushing team Payton & the Denver Broncos in last year's big game. Led by a stifling defense oh I'm sorry " The LOB " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PH35C7Fhq0 they embarrassed the league's top offensive unit holding them to only 8 points & 3******ds of total offense.
On the hot seat
We can't start the season without talking about who's coaching for their jobs now can we ?
as the song says these guys are feeling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrhf_zgtmAg
Jason Garrett - Dallas Cowboys : Red Jesus has missed the playoffs 3 straight years & it's not just missing the playoffs it's in win or go home situations on the last day of the season the boys seem to get their asses kicked ! I know in the grand scheme of things the Cowboys have had one of the most overhyped & overpayed rosters in the league but he still has at his disposal a pro bowl QB in Tony Romo & 1 of the 5 best WR in the league Dez Bryant. This might be his last chance to pull through before Jerry's World makes a change.
Mike Smith - Atlanta Falcons : He's made the playoffs 4 out of 6 seasons in Atlanta 2 of those years has finished with the NFC's best record gaining him home field advantage but has exactly 1 playoff win to show for all this ! Last year he gets a pass based on the loss of the teams best WR Julio Jones going down early in the season due to injury but with all his pieces back in place this year I think owner Arthur Blank will be looking to make a change if there is no sort of post season success this go around.
Joe Philbin - Miami Dolphins : The whole Richie Incognito & Jonathan Martin mess aside Philbin's lack of on the field success could ultimately be his undoing this year. 2012 1st Round pick Ryan Tannehill has shown no signs of drastic improvement over his first 2 years and the head coach has not turned the Dolphins big spending into big wins yet, he needs to in 2014.
Mike Tomlin - Pittsburgh Steelers : Omar Epps err I mean Coach Tomlin after much success through most of his tenure including a Super Bowl win and another super Sunday appearance in his 3rd year has failed to make the playoffs in 2 consecutive seasons. His task won't get any easier with an aging defense & a battered Big Ben. He made need his best coaching job yet this season or it could be steel curtains for him ( see what I did there ? ) If things don't work out he can petition for his own " House " spinoff !

Like my PE just said above don't believe the hype on the following teams. Experts will tell you that they are primed for contention but I have my doubts for various reasons !
Arizona Cardinals : A lot of people are buying into Carson Palmer having some sort of Kurt Warner like revival in the dessert ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdTLqmY5x3M ) but I'm not buying it just yet.. Despite a rating of 83.9 which isn't terrible along with 24 TD passes he still found time to toss the ball to opposing teams 22 times which was second to only Eli Manning combine that with the fact they are probably the 3rd best team in their own division & a tougher schedule they will find it tough to steal a wildcard spot.
Green Bay Packers : The Pack will still be pretty good but not super bowl good. The defense finished with the 25th ranked overall unit last year and Pro Bowl DT B.J Rahji will miss the season due to injury & there is still a question whether the Pack can run the ball just enough on offense to keep teams honest.
San Diego Chargers : An aging Antonio Gates a tougher out of division schedule oh and playing the Broncos twice will probably make it a little harder on the Bolts this year !
The Houston Texans : Their best player on offense is unhappy and wants out of town, their second best offensive player is coming off major surgery ( and not too mention his baby's mama hates him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t2GmeGwvis ) oh and not to mention the best QB on the roster only joined them about 48 HRS ago
Old Faces New Places
These big name free agents decided their talents were best served elsewhere or in other words show me the money !!!
Aquib Talib- Signed by Denver : The first shot across the bow in the arms race vs. rival New England was initially regarded as the top DB on the open market before the release of Revis from Tampa.
Demarcus Ware - Signed by Denver : Sensing a theme here ? The former Cowboy great and future HOF gives the Broncos another pass rusher to help out stud LB Von Miller.
Darelle Revis- Signed by New England : Not to be outdone the Pats picked up one the best cover men in the league to bolster a struggling secondary and with the thought in mind they will come across the Broncos high flying offense again in the post season.
Desean Jackson - Signed by Washington : More shocking than the release of the explosive Pro Bowl receiver was that he ended up with division rival Washington for what in the grand scheme of things was pennies on the dollar !! Teaming with 2013 league receptions leader Pierre Garcon gives 3rd year Quarterback RG3 a great duo to toss the ball to.
Better than you think
Hey Im not all doom & gloom.. these are a couple of dark horses that could do some good things this year !
Buffalo Bills : Even after trading away WR Stevie Johnson in the offseason the Bills still have quite a few playmakers around to make life easier for 2nd year QB E.J Manuel and they also have a defense that was second in the NFL in sacks last year behind only Carolina. There is good reason to believe they'll end up being the 2nd best team in the AFC east.
Minnesota Vikings : With absolute no production out of the QB position the Vikes still managed to finish 13th in the league in total offense. Enter Teddy Bridgewater who I believe is the best quarterback in the 2014 class not Johnny Clipboard & sooner rather than later Bridgewater will take the starting job from Matt Cassell and become a rookie of the year candidate.
So with all that said
Your division winners, wildcards & Super Bowl Champ..
NFC East - Philadelphia Eagles : Even with the loss of Jackson there is still enough talent there on offense to get the job done !! The addition of Darren Sproles will be nice piece to Chip Kelly's up tempo offense.
NFC North - Chicago Bears : A lot of QB's if their talented enough have that once in a lifetime out of body experience during a season were they put up video game like numbers and everything goes their way. If Jay Cutler stays healthy there's enough playmakers around him to have just that kind of season.
NFC South - New Orleans Saints : This division is actually pretty wide open but the Saints have the one talent in Jimmy Graham who is an impossible matchup for anyone & they are practically unbeatable in the Super Dome !
NFC West - Seattle Seahawks : All key pieces from last year are back. Their best WR will be healthy again and Russell Wilson is another year better. I see no reason to pick against them to this point. The 49er's have major injury issues at Linebacker & Running Back
Wild Cards : Green Bay , Tampa Bay
NFC Championship Game : Chicago @ Seattle
NFC Champions : Seattle
AFC East - New England Patriots : I mean this a lock right ?
AFC Central - Baltimore Ravens : Cincy will be on their heels for most of the year but Baltimore is poised to rebound from last years disappointing season with an improved defense and Steve Smith IMHOP still has a little left in the tank.
AFC South - Indianapolis Colts : Best QB in the division Andrew Luck , maybe the best Head Coach and an improved group of receivers .. If they get any type of running game they should coast to a 2nd straight division title the other 3 teams stink !!!
AFC West - Denver Broncos : If Payton is upright they are at least 2 games better than any other team in their division. KC will come back to earth a little & the Raiders and the Chargers still aren't there yet.
Wild Cards : Cincinnati, Buffalo
AFC Championship : New England @ Denver
AFC Champion : New England Patriots :(
Super Bowl 49 at Levis Stadium in S.F will feature the Brady Bunch vs. The Legion of Boom !
The Seahawks look to be a Dynasty right before our eyes will the right pieces in place to repeat as champions ..
