One Day...

A glimmering last sight...
One day when I looked on the horizon I saw a future together,
How I wanted to grasp that day, when our dreams came true.

I knew I wasn't perfect but you said you'd accept me for me,

Knowingly you took my hand and gave me a connection,
Now life began anew, yet how did things fare in our minds?
One step at a time, we threaded and we became as one.
Waiting by the door, I clench the key to enter without fear.

Lies and petty mistakes put stones in our paths,
Oh how much they hurt, so much pain they cause,
Violet skies fill the horizon with a glare of nostalgia,
Even in twilight I can hear your whispers in my head.

I am one because of you, did you think am just half?
Strong and ephemeral we are but true, did you think am perfect?

Trials passed and mourning stroke our voices anew,
Riches and wealth dissipated in the view,
Ugliness is gone from our stare yet our vessels cannot be true,
Even in darkest times our love shines so bright.

When I told my self love is gone, I hoped I was mistaken,
I know I lied, I know I cried, yet to believe is sinned,
Times and times again I laughed in the face of despair,
How foolish I was, how weak minded was I?

Yet I cannot face life without you by my side,
Oh please give me the chance to prove it to you,
United we stand together once again, forever more or till death do us part.
