Campus Report Week 5
So here we are the last weekend of September yielded a minor upset or 2 and some near scares for a couple of major scares before shit gets real this coming weekend. The most impressive win of the weekend came Thursday night when #7 UCLA rolled into the dessert and dropped 62 on ASU in a blowout victory. #1 FSU regrouped after some first half struggles to separate from NC.State in the second half en route to a 56-41 win in Raleigh. The Spartans put 50+ again in their win over Wyoming ... the mean green offense is now 3rd in the nation in PPG. But the big news comes from the SEC where all the top heavyweights in the conference other than South Carolina won Saturday setting up a huge October 4th where 6 teams from the SEC west all ranked play each other. Come Sunday there will definitely be some shake ups in the chase for the 4 team playoff and the championship picture after this coming weekend. I will get to the monster matchups later in my top 5 games to watch but for right now here's the top 25.
1.Florida St. - The Noles offense looks like it starting to hit stride after this weekend but they have to run the ball better.

Top 5 Matchups this week
There are some huge games this weekend headlined by the 3 big games in the SEC. But that isn't the only place in the country that is deserving of your eyeballs these 5 games are must see when your taking a break from the baseball playoffs ( k**s what k**s ? they can watch themselves !! )
#13 Satnford @ #10 Notre Dame - 3:30pm Sat. NBC : This long standing rivalry renews itself under the golden dome with a lot on the line. With some help the winner can jump into the 4 team playoff conversation. Fitting a game with one team's nickname being "The Cardinal " & the other being the premier catholic school in America will result in a " crusade " to score. The Cardinal are second in the nation in points allowed giving up only 6.5 per game, the Irish are 4th giving up only 11.5
#19 Nebraska @ #9 Michigan St. - 8:00pm Sat on ABC: Tell me the last time a BIGX matchup featured 1 team that was averaging 50pts per game faced off against another that was averaging 45pts per game. Well that's what we have here the highest scoring teams in the conference & 2 of the highest scoring in America !! Could be a much more entertaining matchup than most thought before the season started.
#16 LSU @ #4 Auburn 7:00pm Sat. ESPN : The Tigers rebounded from their upset loss at the hands of Miss St. & put up 63 against New Mexico St. after switching to QB Brandon Harris in the 2nd Quarter he'll start the game against Auburn. The other Tigers have been steady and undefeated so far ready to welcome their SEC west rivals to Jordan-Hare Stadium !!
#7 Texas A&M @ #17 Miss St. 12:00pm Sat. ESPN: The Aggies come in averaging 51pts per game & escaped last week with an overtime win vs Arkansas. Dan Mullen's squad is led by Dak Prescott who is 2nd in the conference in passing efficiency & are looking to prove that their win over LSU wasn't a fluke.
#3 Alabama @ #11 Ole Miss 3:30pm Sat. CBS : Blake Simms has emerged as a legitimate starter in the SEC and he will square off against Bo Wallace of Ole Miss who is the most experienced QB the Tide will face all season. Bama is used to high profile games with huge stakes. Now it's time to see if the Rebels can rise to the occasion and match their intensity without losing composure.
