NFL What we learned week 7
So Peyton Manning is the best QB ever ... period amen end of story !! A man who some people thought 3 years ago would never play again let alone at this kind of level is now the NFL's all time leader in career TD passes @ 510 and the scary thing is he's not done yet. Assuming his health holds up & the way the rules are set up to protect both QB's and receivers it's not impossible he could go until he's 40 which by that time he could be touching 600 td passes. Now the one thing that's always been held against Manning is his postseason success or lack there of for that matter .. 1st of all while yes he's lost 2 super bowls he does have 1 Lombardi trophy to his credit and 1 super bowl MVP & his post season numbers aren't awful (11wins 12 losses 6,589yds passing 37td 24int ) problem is what everyone likes to point too are the years where the Colts piled big wins, big numbers during the regular season and flamed out during the playoffs & also the blowout loss in last years super bowl. Now is Manning partially to blame for some of those failures sure but let's not forget that some of those teams he was one were flawed teams to begin with and not really structured to have post season success. Besides we need to stop equaling championship rings with the success of a career if that were the case Robert Horry would be the greatest NBA player of all time after all he does have more rings than Jordan !! But in Manning's case ask yourself honestly if any of the QB's below are truly better than Peyton Manning even if they do have more Championship rings .....
Troy Aikman
Terry Bradshaw
Ben Roethlisberger
Bart Starr
Eli Manning ..
I'm sure there are a few I'm leaving out. I myself was always a Joe Montana guy when the conversation of best ever @ that position came up and I can still make a very strong argument for that. But if Peyton can complete the journey one more time before he hangs them up for good there is no conversation. Elsewhere in the league.
- Did you know the combined road record of the 4 teams in the NFC south is 2-12-1 good for .142 winning % & a combined overall winning % of .321 easily the worst of all the divisions.. The sorry no account Tampa Bay Succaneers @ 1-5 are only 2 games out of the division lead because teams like Atlanta & New Orleans who both were suppose to be contenders in the NFC have to of the worst defenses in football.
- Apparently Russell Wilson isn't black enough ... causing hostility in the Seahawks locker room and in other news WR Percy Harvin's black ass was traded to the Jets because he likes to punch teammates and is an overall jackass apparently !!
- And apparently Andy Dalton is what I thought he was a middle of the road starting QB who entering week 8 is the 20th rated passer in the league with a QB rating of 89.7 and has a blistering 6td passes through 6 games !! Money well spent Cincinnati.
Power Poll Top 5
1.Denver Broncos - They sent a message Sunday night that their offense is even more explosive than it was last season and the defense is twice as good !
2.Dallas Cowboys - This pains me to know end to give them this kind of credit but their good folks. People seem to have forgotten how important a good offensive line is to the success of your football team , well the Cowboys have the best one in football and when you can run the ball & play defense your capable of beating anyone.
3.Philadelphia Eagles - Chip Kelly's squad had a week off to rest some injuries and figure out a few kinks in their offensive attack ... but with all that they still sit @ 5-1
4.Green Bay Packers - Everyone but the Pack seems to have sort of issue in the NFC north.. the Packers have proven over the last couple weeks not only to be the most complete team in that division but probably one of the most complete teams in football.
5.Arizona Cardinals - Through smoke & mirrors and backups allover the place the Cards have managed to stay ahead 2 b**sts in the NFC west. Can they maintain we'll see but neither Seattle or San Fran look to be anywhere near the teams they were last year or what many thought they would be this year.
Fantasy BMF Like this was any debate !!!
Peyton Manning : 318 yds passing & 4td passes good for 28.6 pts
