Just a Moment of time

Well ladies and gentlemen that’s us now in November which in Britain and the Commonwealth is the Month when we on the Sunday Closest to the 11th of November is known as Armistice or Remembrance Sunday. A day when the Nation stops and gives thanks and remembers the Millions of Men who served in the Great War, world war two and all other conflicts. We do this not to glory in war, far from it but as a mark of respect for the Men of HM forces who gave their Tomorrows for our today for the wounded and broken both in mind and Spirit. Men who came from the four corners of the world, when the Darkness of Tyranny and Hatred reared its ugly head. All in all some 4,000,000 men and boys served in the first world war of these 673,375 would die in battle, Injuries received or off dieses in the trenches and a further 1,643,469 would suffer some form of wounding during the war.

Men like my Great Grandfather who while fighting at the first day of the Ypres with the Queens own Cameron Highlanders, 15th (Scottish) Division, received shrapnel from a German grenade to his chest at the age of just 20 he would die off it down the pits off blood poisoning Just ten years later. That is why I wear a poppy and take two minutes out of my Time at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to stand in respectful Silence in Memory of these men and boys who gave their lives for my Freedom.

Men who answered, the call of Freedom from the home countries of Scotland, England, Ireland, wales and the empire overseas. Loyal Canada, Australia, New Zealand, south Africa, India and our colonies both large and small who sent the best of their sons or as we call them in Scotland the “Flowers o the Forrest” to fight and die in the Defence of Civil liberties in two world wars.
Also our Allies in these conflicts The US, France, Belgium, China, Russia and the many other nations and volunteers from the neutral countries who felt the need to Join in the Fight against Fascism and hatred.

Also remember the ones who are not remembered the women left at home, the Mothers, sisters wives and girlfriends left to look after k**s. as the Old song says keep the home fires Burning the wars where no less brutal and as costly for them.

So please wear a little Poppy and take a pittance of time for the Girls and the boys form all over who Made the supreme Sacrifice for all off us.

All Gave some, some Gave all
