Watching TB and vampire diaries last night made me think of never having seen a gay tv show. One of the characters I love on TB (HBO) is Lafayette who is a gay character - very funny gay character. \nThere is lots of sex in the show, but always between straight characters. We don\\\'t have a problem with intimate situations with straights being aired even on regular tv. But, other than an award show kiss amongst 3 straight girls we don\\\'t see gays being initimate on non pay regular tv shows that I\\\'m aware of.\nThere are gay characters, some prominently placed, within regular tv shows, but has there ever been a sitcom or series based around an openly gay couple? Where that is the whole focus?\nHow long until that happens? Would you object? Would you watch it?The gay relationships don\'t show them being intimate, but will show Grace in bed with her sleepover date and probably even a kiss or two. They might show Will coming out of the bedroom, but not getting up while his same sex sleepover date stretches and reaches out for him to stay in bed a little longer.\nIt wouldn\'t even have to be a sitcom. Just as a way of starting to introduce it, it could be simple scenes like I described above showing up on currently popular tv drama\'s.\nI\'m not talking porn or watching their tongues tango. I don\'t want to see straights doing that either. \nWith more states recognizes same sex relationship rights, I think presenting them as "normal" would go a long way towards changing attitudes.
