Why ... personal choice I guess?

How many have gone to 'Dating', found someone they like the look of and clicked to go to their profile only to find they are not accepting friend requests, but not only that, they are only accepting messages from friends?

I know, each user has their own reasons for being here, some may have had unpleasant experiences with other users and that what access they allow to their profiles is their own business. However I think what I find a little frustrating is the number of users that do this. I want to get to know people on here, even if it is just one or two people but I keep hitting the same old brick wall. The only people that regularly accept friend requests are those that want a large fan base which usually means they have no time to get to know the other users here.

Maybe I'm being unrealistic in my expectations, after all this is a site to view porn not to network, but then why allow users to create profiles and interact with each other when not many people actually want to do that? Maybe it's me, maybe I'm doing something wrong lol
