"Somebody please tip her"
In my recent essay, "How to piss off a cam model," I mentioned a kind of creature called "tip beggars." We will talk more about that.
In any cam room, there are usually a few gold members and many basic users. Often, some of the basic users will say something like, "Somebody tip this girl!", or "I wish I could tip but my credit card melted", or "You gold members should tip", etc. For as long as there has been tipping in live cams, it has been considered very rude to tell people to tip if the basic user can't tip. This will really make the gold members mad and does not help the model either.
Hey tip beggars: just buy tokens. You have a computer, you have Internet access, you cannot spend $20 on credit for tokens occasionally? I find that very difficult to believe for most people. What I think is that a lot of beggars just want a free show. In fact, some of them will admit it, which makes me even more angry. Sometimes they make me so angry that I leave the cam room.
xHamster is a business. It exists to make money. The models are here to have fun and make money. The gold members are here to give the models money for enjoyment and entertainment. Some basic members add fun and good conversation to the cam rooms. However, some basic members add drama and bullshit and ruin it for everyone.
Imagine if there were 100 users in a cam room, and they all tipped just 20 tokens for a show or a special request. That's only a cost of $2 for each user, but the model will get half of $2 x 100, which is $100. How cool is that? Then a few gold users do not have the burden of tipping 2000 tokens for a great show while everyone else has a free ride.
I have seen a lot of good models leave because too few people are tipping. I have seen a lot of good gold members leave because they tipped a lot and many others did not. But the beggars never leave, they just keep begging, and they wonder why many people aren't tipping.
