What is going on here? (a semi-rant)

We were browsing the site today and happened to come across a member who had several videos posted (all but one blocked) and two picture galleries. We watched the video and went to write a compliment in comments section and the following message popped up "You are not allowed to post comments here". We tried again to comment on several of the member pics and received the same message. We know that the comments are not universally blocked because there were messages from just a few hours ago. Also we know that comments are not limited to just friends because all the comments were from persons not on their friends list.

We tried to send the member a message to see what the problem was but that was also not allowed.

We can't think how we could have offended this member since I don't think we have every seen one of their videos or pics, or visited their page before today.

We read their profile closely and saw that they were going to block anyone who had friend-ed two other members. They also go on at length about other members trying to profit from their videos. We are not friends of either member that was mentioned, we certainly aren't making any money on this site, and we aren't paying any member for a friendship.

Has anyone else had this experience? What the heck is up with these people?

I know that we should just let it go but it is highly annoying to be excluded when you haven't done anything to deserve it.

Does anyone know what the heck is going on?
