Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the past few days, you've probably heard about Demi Lovato posing nude for Vanity Fair magazine. Demi Lovato--for those who don't know-- is an American singer who has legions and legions of young fans. She used to be a star on a Disney channel show so we can count her as another star breaking from the good girl image.
Demi has also had many body issues and addictions that she has openly talked about. She has definitely rebounded from those things. In a big way!

Fucking wow. Do you see that beautiful ass on this woman?! Her ass is a work of art! I would tear that ass up!
She said she wanted to do it to show her new-found confidence in her body and in herself. Good for her but also good for us! The reaction by most people have been positive. There have been many articles written about the spread which support her. The day the photo spread came out, there was a trending topic on twitter which was "#WeAreProudOfYouDemi". Amazing. If I was a magazine or website, I would support her too! Who doesn't like naked women??!
But of course there will be naysayers who lash out at her and the people that support her decision. I have seen some of the worst things said about her. People have said that she should be ashamed of herself for "stooping to such a low level" by showing her body for attention because its not like people get naked to take showers everyday... People have been calling her whore, slut and everything else in the book. People have said that she is only doing it to promote her new album called "Confident". People have said that she only decided to strip down after she lost weight. So many different things.
All of this of course culminates in the simple fact that her young fans can see this and see how to be sexy and how to show their bodies to get ahead.
The following are comments made by various detractors of her decision:
"All I can say is the porn producers and pimps (which include women) must thank the heavens everyday women are "wired" this way as they laugh all the way to the bank."
"Come on women. We can do better than this."
"I can't help but think this actually does the opposite of the insinuated. When young women who aren't as beautiful as Lovato read where her doing this was such a hard, bold and brave move (looking like SHE does), you wonder if they'd ever take off their turtlenecks and jeans! It's a bit like those "plus-size models." Gimme a break. If they're full-figured, then most of us have NO hope. How does that help?"
