Empty Profile Rant
Hi fellow XHamster members!
Maybe it's just me, but I get increasingly frustrated when I receive PMs from some members--usually new and male--who haven't put the slightest bit of effort into their profile, nor have bothered to post a single picture, then want (and seem to expect!) to be "friended" and begin a sexually suggestive conversation.
I don't know if they just don't "get it," or maybe some are so use to getting by (here and in "life") with lazy, half-hearted efforts, and see nothing wrong with it.
Whatever the reason, if this is you, please consider these thoughts: from my perspective, life in general, and XHamster more specifically, is a competition. Whether you realize it or not, when you join this site, you're already in "competition" with every other member of your gender for the time and attention of each member you contact.
You--your profile--is instantaneously "weighed" by each member you contact to befriend, try to converse with, or for whatever reason brings you here. And what you say--or in this instance, what you DO NOT say--speaks volumes about who you are as an individual.
If you're male contacting a female here, you must realize that on any given day, the female you're contacting has already received several other friend requests or PMs. In all likelihood, these other members--hoping to catch the attention of the member-- took the time to write a thoughtful, meaningful and pithy profile...then took the extra step to post a profile picture, plus post a few other pictures.
Now....if you're the female on the receiving end, whose profile do you think she's likely to spend any time at all reading? I can say that from my perspective, if you haven't done a thing to make yourself interesting (no profile pic, no profile information), I mentally whisper "next;" I delete the request; then go to the next one. Just like everyone here, my time is valuable. So why would any female waste their time on a member who hasn't given the joining process the respect it deserves; nor shown the slightest interest in making themselves "worthy" of being an XHamster friend?
It's especially galling when these "no-no" members contact a XHamster Verified member (who has gone above and beyond the normal process to validate their authenticity); then behave as if they're on the same level playing field--they're not...because they haven't put in the effort. And guys, it's just not that hard...
