Deed Poll would make a fortune out of me
You might have noticed I have changed names! .............WHAT? AGAIN? I hear you cry. Yes, t'is true, but bear with and all will becomer clear.
It has all to do with my wife, plus the fact that I really wasn't happy with Susan, Susie or any other derivation of said moniker! (sorry to all Susans etc out there) Anyway, I walked into the bedroom with a cup of coffee for her indoors the other morning and was greeted with the usual welcome: "Morning Shirley!" She has taken to calling me this since I started growing my hair long! The length of my hair has nothing to do with my penchant for wearing lingerie and prancing around like a gurl, it is because I am an ageing hippie, otherwise I would have shaved the beard off by now!
I digress! Then it hit me like a bolt out of the blue: Shirley, thats it, if I call my alter ego Shirley, then I will get a kick out of it everytime my wife says it! Genius! However, it still seemed a bit boring, so, after playing around with a few phonetics (no, that is not what I call my golfing partners, AND I said 'around' not 'a round') I came up with Cherli! It still sounds the same when spoken (ask Cher), so should still have the desired effect when my wife calls me Cherli!
Guess what? She hasn't mentioned it since! Typical!
Oh well, I live in hope of a raging hard on when she does!
