Song Describing the X Experience.
This following youtube track is awesome. Everybody should listen to it... but only all the way through. If you've ever been curious about d**gs, but have resolved never to take them, definitely listen this. It's the closest musical approximation I've ever heard that sounds like the way the d**g ecstasy actually feels. It begins with the initial taking of the X and anticipation of it working, then transitions into it actually taking you up at about :40. It then describes the little highs you begin to feel while on that journey to its plateau. At 2:15 it describes the rush you get directly before the plateau and then the little ride you have just following it. At 2:41 you hear yourself actually arriving at the X's plateau and the little ride you take (which should last much longer in the song, imho) which lasts for about three to five hours. The track then abruptly ends with a weird-sounding horn-honking sound which just, to me, is indicative of the strange, but beautiful journey you just went on way up in the fucking stratosphere of your mind. I disagree with the abruptness, here, however, as it usually is a rather slow, easy come down, like a plane landing. But whatever. It's amazing how an artist can capture this experience in a piece of music, an entire experience contained within something so abstract. So, if you never wish to try the stuff but are a little curious, listen to this track even if you dislike this genre of music (dubstep). Read this post while you do and it may give you a small understanding of the whole X experience and why people rave about it. Of course it doesn't beat the real thing and I would urge everyone to try it at least once. It's harmless. I've dropped quite a bit over the past five years and I'm still articulate as ever, imho, after all ;-)

As a side note, if anyone truly is interested in this (which I doubt there will be many on this site) please explore the youtube links I have on my profile after the pupil dilation pic. All of those songs have elements of the rush of ecstasy, "Bear Trap" in particular is good. The "whooshing" noise you hear, followed by that big, bass descendo, is the rise and hit of the stuff. You find that type of thing is virtually all dubstep, as the genre was based around rave culture and, therefore, ecstasy.
And since I seem to be on a rant about X, I've just got to say that it truly does have a bad rap. Far from creating some party-freak, drooling, mindless zombie as the DEA portrays, all X does is simultaneously give you energy and calms you down... a strange, yet sublimely wonderful, combination. One of the reasons it was used by ther@pists in the 70's (and why many still secretly recommend their patients to seek the d**g out before psych sessions) is that it virtually destroys that judgemental, criticizing, guilt-ridden part of you mind which blocks the truth while self-reflecting, allowing you to be completely at ease with yourself... with who you are. You simply accept yourself, faults and all. This, in turn, leads to the forgiveness of others, which is why X is known for making people want to hug and touch each other. For anyone who has heard and knows the meaning of the word "Namaste" (Buddhist saying for I recognize the suffering and faults in you, but also in myself, therefore I come at you with love) I would think X would be of interest, as it takes you to that feeling of ultimate Namaste. Because it allows you to forgive yourself and others, it's great for resolving issues within both yourself and your relationships. And the wonderful thing is that those potential profound revelations don't just vanish when the d**g wears off. They stick with you. X can be good therapy, aside from being fun as hell!
I know many will disagree with this post. I was anti-d**gs for most of my life. I didn't even like taking prescribed ones. I didn't even try pot until my early thirties (I don't like that stuff at all.) But when I tried X my opinion changed. I'd never try heroin or crack or anything, but I saw true value in X and I wish others would have a similarly open mind about it.
