A Scotish Tale (7)
It was the morning after the night before and Isobel had woken up to a missed call. It was from our mum. Isobel also noticed that Jon wasn't next to her, it took her a few seconds to even recognise where she was. Once she figured that out she thought it might be best to try and ring our mum back. She picked up her iPhone nearly dropping it bless her she really hadn't woken up yet. Her eyes adjusted a little more to being awake and she clicked on the missed call, and in turn ringing my mum back. The phone rung for a few seconds and then the familiar sound of our mum appeared on the other end.
"Hello Isobel darling how are you?" Our mum asks.
"I'm ok mum sorry for not answering my phone last night I didn't hear my phone go off." Isobel replied.
"It's ok Isobel me and your dad are just having a walk on the beach sweetie pie, I bet you've only just got up haven't you?" My mum said laughing.
"Yeah I have actually mum shall I leave you two to it?! Isobel asks.
"Let your dad say hello and we will leave you to it." My mum replies.
"Hello Isobel you ok?" My dad asks.
"Yeah I'm fine dad, you?" Isobel replies.
"I'm fine Isobel." My dad replies.
"Aww good I'll leave you to it then dad." Isobel replies.
"Speak soon princess." My dad replies.
"Speak soon dad." Isobel says.
"Bye Isobel." My mum says.
"Bye mum." Isobel says.
The phone call then ends and my mum and dad continued there walk along the beach and Isobel got up out of the rather comfortable bed.
Jon then emerges from the bathroom.
"Morning Isobel who were you talking to?" He asks.
"My mum and dad." Isobel replies.
"Oh ok, the others are downstairs I think I'll join you in a minute." Jon says smiling at Isobel.
"Ok Jon see you downstairs." Isobel says before giving Jon a quick kiss on the cheek.
"See you downstairs Isobel." Jon replies.
Isobel leaves the turret bedroom and walks downstairs to join the rest of us for breakfast,
Meanwhile in the boathouse....
I was tucked up nice and warm in bed exactly where you'd left me last night, during my sleep my mind had replayed over last nights events a million times and I constantly kept thinking what if I'd had said no, everything would have been so much different. Those thoughts kept repeating in my head throughout the night, and I struggled to sleep. I'd woken up multiple times during the night, I really struggled to get those thoughts out of my head. Suddenly I heard the boathouse door open.
"Is dopey awake?" I heard a voice say.
"Yeah I am." I managed to reply.
I definitely needed some breakfast and a strong cup of coffee after all I hadn't really had much sleep.
"Ok dopey I'll wait down her for you." The voice said again.
"Ok." I reply.
I got myself out of bed, slipping into some jeans a t shirt and my pair of grey adidas trainers. Once I'd slipped into some clothes I walked downstairs and was met by Jen.
"Hello Jen." I say.
"Hello Jack darling, how are you?" Jen asks me.
"I'm ok thanks Jen, how are you?" I reply.
"I'm ok Jack I thought I'd come and wake you up this morning after all I've spent loads of time with your sister but not as much with you I'm sorry for that." Jen replies.
"It's ok Jen don't worry about it, I can see you and Isobel have become good friends thanks for looking after her." I reply.
"Your welcome Jack, did you sleep ok?" Jen asks me.
"Not really." I reply.
"Aww why?" Jen asks.
"I kept thinking about me and Sean, if I'd have said no, none of this would have happened." I reply.
"Don't blame yourself darling you can't see into the future, it's not nice being in this position but you'll come out of the other end stronger, and it was my idea for Isobel and Sean to have sex it was a stupid idea." Jen says with sadness in her voice.
"It's not your fault Jen, you wanted the best for both of them." I reply.
"I did want the best for them both, but it was a stupid idea." Jen replies.
"It wasn't a stupid idea Jen, I think Isobel enjoyed it it was what happened afterwards she didn't enjoy." I reply.
"I think she enjoyed it too and Jack thank you." Jen says.
"Thank you for what?" I ask.
"For looking after me." Jen said.
"When did I look after you?" I ask.
"When Zoe....." Jen said, she didn't even have to finish her sentence, I already knew what she meant.
"I think you looked after me." I reply.
"No you looked after me." Jen said.
"I'm not sure about that." I reply.
"We looked after each other, come on then you big dope, Zoe told us about you falling over last night." Jen said laughing.
"I knew she would bless her." I reply.
"Did you hurt yourself?" Jen asked me.
"No I'm ok thanks Jen." I reply.
"Aww good come on then you look like you need something to eat and a cup of coffee sweetie pie, see look I pick up little things from our Zo."
"I can see that, I still can't believe you even talk about me to each other and that you talk to me every night how don't I bore you or annoy you." I reply.
"STOP putting yourself down Jack! Your good at that, I hate it when you talk about yourself in a negative way, because your non of those things you say you are, it upsets me Jack your a lovely lad I know that in another life time Zoe would have you all to herself, I really love spending time with you and I really mean that from the bottom of my heart Jack." Jen replies.
"I know I need to stop putting myself down, I've been put down by others so many times you just start to accept what they say." I reply.
"Well accept what we say Jack be positive sweet pea, now come on I'm hungry."Jen says smiling, and wrapping her arm around my back as we walk.
"Ok Jen I'm hungry too." I reply.
"Good mum is cooking a nice breakfast for us all and I'll see to it you get a cup of coffee to wake you up a little bit, we have a nice plan for you today Jack it was going to be you and Sean but he's not coming after what happened yesterday it's not until later on we will have some breakfast and let you shower and get ready we have a couple of things planned sweet pea." Jen said before giving me a kiss on the cheek making sure that her red lipstick left a mark on my face.
Jen then took me by the hand and led me to the castle, I was still overwhelmed by the size of it and then Jen did something unexpected....

I began to laugh I couldn't believe that she knew the words to a song that I loved, you definitely listened, when I told you things so much so that Jen had decided to listen to Blossoms. The least I could do was sing it back to her.

"I never knew you were a Blossom's fan Jen?" I say surprised.
"Yeah I am Jack I actually was at the same concert as you I heard them on the radio and I heard about you going through Zoe and I went too, I took Pippa and Sara too as they wanted to go to a concert could quite convince Zoe though, I think I saw your head above everyone else's in a black polo shirt and you had a girl on your shoulders at one point." Jen said smiling.
"Wow really!" I say shocked.
"Yeah I saw you but I didn't want to spoil your night by walking over I actually bumped into Sean but he didn't recognise me." Jen said laughing.
"He said afterwards he bumped into a girl and he felt really bad about it, it must have been you." I replied laughing.
"Yeah they say your dopey Jack I bet you would have recognised us Sara walked past him and tapped his shoulder in between the support act and Blossoms and the dopey boy didn't see her." Jen said laughing.
"Hello Isobel darling how are you?" Our mum asks.
