Coming Out 5
Met my younger daughter over a beer in a very quiet pub. Her sister's initial reaction was one of relief at what dad's secret was but the younger one's mouth literally dropped open. Only had an hour but managed to cover most things and told her the things she might find embarrassing early. She looked at some of the pictures. Went well, she wasn't phased and accepted it, "if your happy and doing no harm to yourself then I'm happy for you".
Met her with her husband and ********** granddaughter in the beer garden after they finished work. Showed him my profile picture and his jaw also dropped. He immediately recognised who it was. "How ?" "By the hand". "The hand !! You're not one of us, I would have spent my time looking at the thighs, legs and sling backs. Met their girlfriend later that evening, showed her the pictures and told her what I was about. It was a fine evening and we were sat outside on adjacent steps talking and drinking. It was such a relief and weight off my shoulders. Maybe it was the drink taking effect or just the freedom I felt but I probably started talking a little too loud and freely. My daughter took me to one side, "I'm ok about it but I don't want to hear anything more about my father's sex life". It was the right thing for her to say so I apologised and said no more and we had a great night.
Stayed over two nights and didn't mention the subject to her again. Her husband explained the next morning that she felt uncomfortable hearing me talking about my webpage, which is very understandable. A misjudgement on my part after speaking to her sister first who really got it and was amazingly open, we'd even discussed how I shop online at BooHoo as does my 19 year old granddaughter.
So it's job done. The 7 people I thought should know now know and I have no intention of telling anymore friends or family. I've told them all that if they ever have any questions about it I'm happy to answer but it's out there now and so I intend to say nothing more about it and put it back into my private life.
Two outstanding items. I'm meeting my elder daughter tomorrow for lunch to discuss how things went with her sister and this evening I'm going back to Andrey's where it all started to thank him and let him know how the week went.
Thanks again for all your support. My relief is palpable, things went so much better than I could have hoped and I made the right decision at the right time.
