My return to official chess competition is going smoothly. I have played some very interesting games and run into many old friends.

my first game against a fellow pianist was a good lesson, when you see a good combination play it. I tried a diferent variation that I thought was more elegant and lost. I miscalcullated badly.

the second game against a pool man was too much fun. I sacrificed four queens and left the option of Stalemate for my friend. He missed the tying move snd I notched my first tournament win.

the third game was a left wing attack where I indulged myself in mating my opponent with pawns.

my second loss was a skillfull demolishment by better bishpos. Good lesson of bad positional play.

played anothe game against my pool man friend where I found a winning right wing attack.

The final game was a difficult win. My rival dominated the board but failed to execute his attack. My precise defense slowly disjointed his chess pieces and his king was exposed.

the diffrence between online competition and live play should never be forgotten. While the virtual world and its safety keep you distracted, those who play at real world events have better perception and receive the real rewards.
