Teflon Wedding Rings
Most people have seen these. They come in all sizes and colors for men and women. They are basically just plain bands and are made of Teflon, some kind of plastic, or some type of rubber or something like that.
They were originally made for mechanics, electricians, and machinists so they could wear a wedding bad that would not break their finger if it caught on a power tool (or electrocute them if if wore a hole in their gloves). Nurses and doctors picked them up since they are putting on latex gloves many times a day. Some of the women in my office wear them as they are more comfortable to type in. The one I now wear is visually indistinguishable from the gold band in my drawer at home. I have been to the beach a couple of months ago and saw that a lot of people who used to leave their wedding rings home now wear these cheap Teflon rings so that they are recognized as married people who don't want to be hit on by single people.
A few months ago I noticed them start to appear at our swinger parties. Many of the ladies had previously taken to wearing cheap metal rings with fake diamonds since they wanted to wear a ring (marriage is an accomplishment, claim your victory) but the real ones tended to get lost or damaged or to scratch delicate parts. By the orgy last Saturday, I think all but one or two women had switched to these.

They had met several new swinger couples to party with by this "secret" signal. They don't wear the blank rings in more mundane places.
Another old female friend wears these cheap rings when her husband takes her to glory holes. It's clear to the guys on the other side of the wall that they are playing with a married lady (big turn on) but no expensive rings get stolen and no metal rings hurt the sensitive cocks of the guys.
