What are some helpful grooming tips?

I have waxed myself I have also waxed others. I still consider myself a beginner with a long way to go before I feel more comfortable and be more proficient. I am reaching out to see how many people wax? Who does there own? I would also be very grateful for any and all tips. I have practiced with both soft and hard waxes. I plan to reduce the temperature of the hard wax next time and also have a small fan, I feel the hard wax on past attempt's was to runny and to hot on the skin and then seemed to take to much time to cool enough before removing therefore it took a long time. Please elaborate on anything you feel might be helpful.
