Why would you want to be friends?

I do politely say on my profile that I will not consider friends requests unless a comment or message has been received. Likewise I also add that if they have been on site for a reasonable amount of time and have no content of their own nor have they made comments on others people’s profiles then I am not interested in considering friendship requests.

I typically receive requests from people who either can’t or won’t read or are apparently so interested in becoming a site friend, they ignore any condition of becoming one.

Also while I am at it, why does somebody who is already a site friend password protect all their content so a friend cannot see it? Am I alone in just not getting the point?
