Coming Out 5 Met my younger daughter over a beer in a very quiet pub. Her sister's initial reaction was one of relief at what dad's secret was but the younger one's mouth literally dropped open. Coming Out 4 Had a phone call from my eldest daughter, she didn't want to wait till Tuesday to hear dad's secret and had a babysitter available. We live close she arrived in 5 mins. Coming Out 1 Had a wonderful evening, spent 2.5 hours offloading the joy of it and he got it straight away. 2 The Irresistible Urge Monday evenings were Cub Scouts nights but as Monday was washing day Monday evenings were also when the ironing took place. In the 1950's everybody had a standard lamp in their living room. This was made of timber and consisted of a turned decorative pole about 60mm in diameter and about 1.7m tall on top of which was a light bulb and a large flowery lampshade. The pole was screwed into the base which was 50mm thick and no more than 500mm in diameter, the base had three little feet about 50mmm tall.
