I been a Cali girl on my whole life, but has done my share of sightseeing, from Paris to Alaska and Hawaii, where I fell in love with the hibiscus flowers that are now inked around my wrist. I got my first tattoo at 18 and in three years has filled up a sleeve, my rib, neck, and knuckles, which say “Love Ink.” A back piece is next: “I’m trying to figure it out, because I want it to be as beautiful and colorful as my sleeve.”

My largest tattoo, a lighthouse inside my arm, represents my mom, who’s an avid collector of lighthouse figurines and was diagnosed with cancer four years ago. A lipstick tube has my sister’s name, and a few hummingbirds around my body are dedicated to my best friends. “I didn’t have a relationship with my parents for a while. They weren’t happy with what I was doing, but they’re there for me now. In fact, my divorced parents are the inspiration for my favorite tattoo, which says “True Love Never Dies” across the side of my body. Madison’s first tattoo was “La Bella Vita” on my foot, and it’s a motto I never forgets: “As fucked up as it is, mine is a beautiful life.”
