Even though it is the 21st century, we still have a long way to go with regards to acceptance of the LGBT community. (and many many other groups) Here in Canada, we have same sex marriage, so it is no longer necessary for non-op transexuals to get the op to get married, if they so choose. Not that many of my friends did this, in fact, no one did, but if you really wanted that marriage, you had to be a full SRS with time in rank.
